Ankylosaurs

Ankylosaurs are known as armoured dinosaurs because of the interlocking plates that lay on their backs. They walked low to the ground, moving via four short and stubby legs. The back legs were longer than the front ones but not quite disproportionate. The bones in their feet were more like hooves than claws like other dinosaurs. They were broad and very box-like. Their jaws were small and weak, filled with loosely spaced, small, leaf shaped teeth. The features of the mouth point to a diet of pulpy, plant-based food. Like the other classifications of dinosaurs, they are split into smaller groups Nodosaurs and Ankylosauridae. The noticeable  differences between them are the fact that Ankylosauridae bony clubs on the end of their tail but Nodosaurs did not. Ankylosauridae also had more armour along the head.
